About Bee Wirral
Established in 2013. Bee Wirral CIC is a lottery funded community centre, created to help bring a sense of community to Birkenhead. The organisation was called Birkenhead Early Excellence, which is where the name Bee comes from, as the centre is renowned for our baby groups and infant massage led by Lisa Heath.
As the centre has grown through kind donations and having more friendly faces through the door, we have established ourselves as a place for people to:
Book rooms for meetings
Family contact sessions
The Elemental Project reduces isolation in Men on the Wirral through activities and integration. This includes use of a community allotment, fishing, woodwork, crafts and a space to socialise and find support from other men. Men of all backgrounds and ages are free to join in with any of our sessions. Contact us to find a session near you.
The Whistle Stop Cafe is based in Thurstaston Country Park by the beautiful beach. There is the opportunity to enjoy long walks in nature before popping in for a coffee made from hand picked honduras beans! We sell freshly made food, home-made cakes, and our ice cream is locally sourced. All profits made from the cafe help to run our Summerhill House centre, which allows us to provide sessions that are free or discounted for the community.
If you are looking for a supportive local baby group, then come along to one of our sessions with Bee Early Years. We run Infant Massage, Baby Sensory, Baby Music sessions and Stay & Play. Our Early Years lead, Lisa Heath, has over 25 years experience to support your family in a fun and friendly environment.
Supervised family contact sessions are available at Summerhill House on request. Sessions currently cost £40p/hr with a Supervisor present. We provide a room with toys and games for the children to enjoy and there is a kitchen to make food or drinks. You can request a report for a fee and notes are made of each session which can be accessed by both parties.
Bee Wirral CIC can provide consultancy services to support your organisation, from the early development stages to growing and delivering. We can provide support with business planning, developing policies and procedures, and in the earliest stages, support on what is the best model for your social enterprise to take.
What's On At Bee Early Years
Sensory Bees demonstrates how to provide a calming and educational play time for your baby using sensory toys and equipment. Suitable for babies from birth, this session allows your baby to explore their senses in a fascinating environment.
Hummingbees Baby Music group is a five week course that provides a fun way to connect with your little one and help them develop important sensory and motor skills.
Playing through music can also encourage language development and teach social skills.
Stay and Play is the perfect taster of our favourite play groups. Some weeks we have sensory, arts and crafts, sing-a-long and more.
This is a great way to meet other families in a covid-safe environment, and spend some quality time with your little one.
